Worksheets

Theme: Finding a Voice
Aims: Exploring the nature of listening and communication.

Who's Listening?

activity for 10 to 13 year olds

Key learning:

  • Exploring the nature of listening and communication
  • Beliefs and ideas
  • Communicating and sharing things we believe in
  • Being heard in the wider community

  • Freedom of Speech
  • Changing the world!

Estimated timing:

2 x 150 min sessions

Materials:

  • Several sheets of brainstorm paper/newsprint
    (for activities 8,11,13,14)
  • Washable marker pens

Props for activity 15 e.g.

  • Existing furniture in room – tables and chairs
  • 12 sturdy rulers/garden canes
  • Masking tape/Gaffer tape
  • Strong paper or card
  • Collection of thick permanent marker pens
  • Face paints
  • Selection of hats
  • Blank paper rolls

Please print one copy of the instructions and a copy of each handout for every member of the group you will be working with - remember to include a copy for your own reference.

Using the worksheets

There are different ways to use these worksheets. Ideally you will get a chance to work through each of the three worksheets.

Each worksheet is split into two parts to make them more flexible. They have also been devised for two different age groups.

Once you have decided which worksheets you wish to use you can click on the link and download the PDFs.
